The lads at Electric Callboy are back! This crew of hard partying musicians always come with a boom and leave a tune dancing in your ears forever. TANZNEID drops over on August 7th on all platforms, so it was an honour to be able to hear the whole thing so early. Let’s see what they’ve in store for fans this time.

 

 

Tanzneid

From the get go, Tanzneid gets your head bopping and your body moving. It’s like Electric Callboy put something in their music that makes you incapable of staying still. Alas, it’s what we’ve come to want and need from Callboy time and time again over the years. This track will fill that void inside with a wicked dance and awesome screams

 

 

RATATATA feat. Babymetal

Any tune combining the raw talent of the girls at Babymetal with the beautiful chaos of music Electric Callboy produce is bound to be a banger from its inception. This track is a massive instant classic for my inner teen, having grown up on both bands. Hold onto your hats for the breakdown ,guys. It’ll catch you off guard if you aren’t careful! We’re privileged enough to already be able to belt this one out so go blow it up on any and all platforms you use!

 

 

 

Hypercharged

This track hits you with a catchy electronic dance beat initially. it never fails to astound me how Callboy are able to so seamlessly merge differing genres into one massive party that scratches at that little itch in the back of your brain. A cheeky delayed breakdown toward the end got me up out of my seat and jumping around. Thus far, TANZNEID has me hyper charged.

 

 

Let The Good Times Roll Feat. The Offspring

What a collaboration! The legends that brought us “You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid” and “Pretty Fly For a White Guy” are here alongside Callboy for possibly the most high energy track on the album. Those of us that grew up with emo and pop punk roots in the early naughties will see this combination and immediately get excited. These two artists both really know how to bring the party, so it’s no surprise at all to hear the synergy they have together in full swing. Will you let the fun pass or let the good times roll?

 

 

 

 

Elevator Operator

The opening of this track reminded me of the nostalgic sounds of early 2,000’s house and dance music I’d find my own mum listening to when I was little. That blast of nostalgia aside; this track makes itself known quickly from its incredibly catchy beat to its sensational shift into heavy vocals and right back out into lovely electronic vocals.

 

 

Heartclub

Heartclub starts out more like your classic metalcore track you would have heard in the 2,010’s, but it sure isn’t a slouch. This track shines incredibly on this album, showing off that Electric Callboy really can do it all. Heartclub took me back to the deep love of metalcore I developed in my teens, which caught me off guard. I hadn’t expected anything to make me feel so deeply on this album, since Callboy normally just make me want to jump and pit. This might be the contender for my favourite track on the album so far.

 

 

The Way You Are

A much more reserved track here breaks the album up nicely. After so many tracks getting you up and going, The Way You Are tells you to relax and listen for its runtime. well, it does in the first half. Then it smacks you in the face with a massive breakdown as if to say “We got you!” like some kind of silly practical joke. The messaging throughout that you are good enough and loved as you are is a sweet sentiment after such a focus on partying. Callboy really do have a heart of gold.

 

 

Still Waiting

A Sum 41 cover?! In 2026?! Hell yeah. Taking such an iconic song, putting their own Callboy spin on it and still showing their love for the source material is nothing short of genius. Hearing Derek’s iconic verses screamed scratches a deep urge in me, filling me with the need to get straight into a pit. Seeing such a beautiful cover of one of my favourite bands in childhood, performed by one of my favourites in the modern day in such a stylish way healed my inner child. Wow.

 

 

The Savior

The Savior gives the same energy that made me fall in love with Electric Callboy back in 2016. These guys know how to grow their audience while still entertaining the hell out of their long time fans, which is part of what makes Callboy such a special group to listen to. Ever had a song instil you with hope and make you want to bust a move? Then The Savior will stick right with you.

 

 

Revery

The creepy vibes starting this track off intrigued me deeply, using a children’s choir for eerie vocals. This intrigue paid off quickly, leading straight into wicked heavy guitar and screaming. This track vaguely reminded me of Ice Nine Kills’ sound, once again showing that Electric Callboy are no one trick pony.

 

 

The last four tracks on Tanzneid are remixes of some Callboy works by differing artists that all have a lot to give. So let’s dive in.

We Got The Moves (Sullivan King remix)

The last massive Callboy song is back with a new, unique coat of paint thanks to Sullivan King. This time with awesome dubstep-esque breakdowns! We’re still young, we’re still free so let’s show them our moves!

 

TANZNEID (Paolo Ferrara Remix)

This track right here is one to skank out to. This incredible reimagining of TANZNEID makes its counterpart and itself shine so brilliantly. This late in the album, a remix of the title track made me appreciate the journey I have been on with TANZNEID as an album. Electric Callboy never take you from A to B, they take you on the heavy metal vengabus and drop you off with an enormous grin. And Paolo Ferrara was an awesome stop along the way.

 

 

Hypercharged (Paul Elstak Remix)

The art of a remix is so special. Being able to repurpose someone’s art in your own image is so beautiful, yet Elstak managed to keep the heart of Hypercharged recognisable and work outwards. This remix really painted an image in my mind of the full dance floor, glowsticks, DJ booth, strobe lights, smoke machines, the works. What an incredible painting.

 

 

Revery (Sullivan King Remix)

Sullivan King is back to it, this time working the eerie vibe of Revery into an brilliant reprieve. The contrast this track gives to its source material as a dance tune blew me away. I felt so alive throughout this track, what an incredible feeling to end on.

 

 

TANZNEID was an experience from start to finish, which took me on a journey through so many feelings while making me get out of my seat to dance at all times. This is something special to watch out for.
